  2. "One of the year's most imaginative and uniquely exciting pieces of cinema." Scott Foundas

"Children of Men leaves too many questions unanswered, yet it has a stunning visceral impact. You can forgive a lot in the face of filmmaking this dazzling." David Ansen

With these 2 quotes from 2 different articles it shows how some people are open or closed minded. One person believes it was a good and imaginative film, when the other has a closed mind and is stuck in the mind set of mainstream Hollywood films.

  3. based around infertility, which is realistic

metaphor for the fading sense of hope

the global infertility, we learn, may be the result of pollution and/or gods wrath applied to a disappointing sinful humanity

  5. Alfonso CuarĂ³n is known for being the director, producer and screenwriter of Children of Men, Gravity, Harry Potter. 6. STYLE: Children of Men is an Independent film meaning it doesn't have to follow Hollywood conventions and has its own personal style. The camera is shaky and follows the characters in long takes making it more realistic then V for Vendetta and also making you feel as if you are involved in the film.. However in V for Vendetta the camera is steady and cuts between a number of different shots throughout the scene. This is because V is a Hollywood film and therefore follows the classic Hollywood conventions.

  7. Themes:
Sim: its in a dystopian future and there is war.
Diff: War is a resolution and is used to gain revenge.
Sim: Two main characters represent hope.
Diff: The generation now is also responsible for providing hope.
Sim: Julian and V both sacrifice themselves for what they believe in
Diff: V is a terrorist for his own revenge. Julian was a terrorist for PURLY political reasons.
Sim: Immigrants are discriminated against in both films
Diff: CoM is more extreme with physical torture as well as mental through beating, abuse, family separation etc.
